These terms apply to the Better Groceries app for iPhone and Apple Watch (“the app”), provided by Alexandre Ramalho. By using the app you agree to them. If you buy a subscription through the App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement also applies.
The free app
Shared lists, aisles, the product catalog, the Apple Watch list and adding items by tapping or typing are free and have no usage limits.
Voice subscription
- Voice adds items by speaking (on iPhone or Apple Watch) or by typing a whole sentence such as “milk, two avocados and greek yogurt”.
- It’s an auto-renewing subscription, billed through your Apple ID. The price is shown in the app before you subscribe. It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in your Apple ID’s subscription settings.
- Launch price: people who subscribe during the launch period keep the launch price for as long as their subscription stays active, even if the price for new subscribers goes up later.
Fair use
Voice includes up to 500 voice or sentence adds per calendar month, far more than a household normally needs. The app shows how many you’ve used. If you reach the allowance, voice pauses until the 1st of the next month; tapping and typing items keep working as normal. To prevent automated abuse, voice requests are also limited to 20 per minute.
We may change the allowance for future billing periods and will tell you in the app first. We will never lower it during a period you have already paid for.
Your content
Your lists are yours. Anyone you invite to a list can see and edit it. Don’t use the app for anything unlawful or to harass other people.
Availability
We work to keep the app running and accurate, but it’s provided “as is”. Voice recognition can make mistakes; check your list before you shop. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses from using the app. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law of your country.
Ending your use
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time (Profile → Delete account). Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription; cancel that in your Apple ID settings.
